Lakewinds Food Co-op

Problem
I began at Lakewinds as a Junior Graphic Designer in 2011, later serving as a full-time in-house Graphic Designer from 2013 to 2018. I returned in 2020 as a contracted designer, continuing through 2023. During this time, Lakewinds required a cohesive and unified design vision across a wide range of materials, including large-scale signage, advertising, in-store displays, illustration, art direction, and their quarterly newsletter.

How I Solved It

I collaborated closely with the marketing team to ensure brand consistency while guiding smaller initiatives led by individual team members, always keeping Lakewinds’ mission of providing the highest quality natural and organic products at a good value at the forefront. I also participated in photoshoots to ensure the brand’s visual identity reflected the co-op’s commitment to outstanding service, education, and community participation across all platforms and touchpoints. Over the years, I further expanded the brand’s visual identity by developing new icons, illustrations, fonts, and other design elements that supported Lakewinds’ role as a trusted, member-owned cooperative.
